Terms of Service

Last updated: September 3, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Hazel&D LLC, a Massachusetts-based business operating Hazel Helps ("Hazel Helps," "we," "us"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms.

1. About Hazel Helps

Hazel Helps is a document-writing and informational assistance service. It helps you draft, organize, and understand letters, appeals, requests, complaints, and similar documents, and provides related general information.

Hazel Helps is not a law firm, attorney, government agency, benefits agency, medical provider, financial advisor, or professional representative of any kind, and does not provide legal, medical, financial, tax, or other professional advice. Using Hazel Helps does not create an attorney-client, doctor-patient, or representative relationship. If you need advice for your specific situation, please consult an appropriately qualified professional.

2. No guarantee of outcomes

Hazel Helps does not guarantee the success, approval, acceptance, response, or any other outcome of any letter, appeal, request, application, complaint, or other document created using the service. Any decision about your document — whether to approve, accept, respond to, or act on it — is made solely by the third party that receives it, such as a government agency, employer, school, healthcare organization, landlord, insurer, creditor, or business. Hazel Helps has no control over those decisions.

3. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for reviewing every generated document for accuracy, completeness, and suitability for your situation before downloading, signing, submitting, or otherwise using it. Generated documents may contain errors, omissions, or bracketed placeholders for missing information.

You are also responsible for the information you provide to Hazel Helps and for your decisions about how to use or submit generated content. You confirm that the information you provide is truthful and accurate to the best of your knowledge, and that you will not use the service to create content you know to be fraudulent or to impersonate another person.

4. Accounts

You must provide accurate account information and keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, to use the service.

5. Free document, credits, and Hazel Helps Plus

Each new account receives one (1) free completed document. After that, documents are available through purchases: a single-document unlock ($4.99), a pack of three (3) document credits ($9.99, credits do not expire), or a Hazel Helps Plus subscription ($14.99/month for ten (10) documents per billing period; unused documents do not roll over).

The Plus subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from your Billing page, and you will keep access to your remaining documents for the rest of the current billing period. One-time credits do not expire until used. We may change prices in the future, but changes will not apply to a billing period you have already paid for, and we will give you reasonable advance notice where practical.

All purchases are also governed by our Refund Policy.

6. Acceptable use

You agree to use Hazel Helps only for lawful purposes. You may not use the service to harass, threaten, or defame anyone; to submit content you know to be fraudulent; to impersonate another person; or to violate any law or regulation.

7. Your content

You retain ownership of the documents you create with Hazel Helps and the information you provide. You grant Hazel Helps a limited license to process that content solely to operate and provide the service to you (for example, storing your drafts and using the information you provide to generate documents).

8. Service availability and changes

We may add, change, or discontinue features of the service at any time. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. If we make a material change to the service, we will notify you where practical.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law: (a) the service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind; and (b) Hazel Helps is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost benefits, or missed deadlines arising from your use of the service.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim. Some limitations cannot be waived under applicable law, including Massachusetts consumer protection law — for example, liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, or fraud. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot legally be limited.

10. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you have a problem, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it informally. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Massachusetts.

11. Termination

You may stop using Hazel Helps at any time and delete your documents at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or applicable law.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date above shows the current version. If you keep using the service after a change, you agree to the updated Terms. Material changes will be highlighted where practical.
